Key Biscayne residence
A young couple with one child hired us to design their home on the Island of Key Biscayne. They had already designed a beautiful kitchen during some construction and remodeling before moving in, and the home boasted impeccable original black and white terrazzo floors. The rest of the house was pretty empty, except for some exceptional pieces acquired from their trips around the world, including a 100 year-old Chinese trunk. An important design requirement included plans in the near future for baby #2, which meant that our TV-free living room layout, would need to be flexible to later transition and accommodate TV viewing once baby made it a party of four.
The result was an elegant, timeless, custom, yet hard-working Global look. Special items included: a unique natural tree trunk coffee table that anchored the whole space, as well as a custom bar, finished entirely in silver leaf, to accommodate the couple’s penchant for entertaining friends and family. Beautiful art and fun light fixtures topped off the sophisticated look.
